Job Description:

As a Finance Associate, you will play a crucial role in managing all financial transactions, budget forecasts, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and procedures. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing all accounting transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
• Preparing budget forecasts to guide financial planning and decision-making.
• Publishing financial statements in a timely manner to provide insights into the company’s financial performance.
• Handling monthly, quarterly, and annual closings to ensure financial records are up-to-date.
• Reconciling accounts payable and receivable to maintain accurate financial records.
• Ensuring timely bank payments and managing cash flow effectively.
• Computing taxes and preparing tax returns in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Managing balance sheets and profit/loss statements to assess the company’s financial position.
• Reporting on the company’s financial health and liquidity to stakeholders.
• Auditing financial transactions and documents to maintain financial integrity.
• Reinforcing financial data confidentiality and conducting database backups when necessary.
• Complying with financial policies and regulations to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to best practices.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience as an accountant in the retail and/or e-commerce industry (e.g., Spar, Hubmart, Konga, etc.).
• Availability to resume immediately to meet the organization’s needs.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Hands-on experience with SAGE accounting software.
• Advanced MS Excel skills, including Vlookups and pivot tables, are a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field.
• ICA or ACCA certification is a plus and demonstrates commitment to professional development and adherence to industry standards.
